I can remember reading Richard Feynman as a child and thinking that he was a real renaissance man. Like good old friends, a great deal of time can pass between encounters and the feelings don’t necessarily change with time. I stumbled upon this piece by him today whilst reading the fantastic reddit.com.

Imagine! In modern times like this, guys are studying to go into society and do something- to be a rabbi- and the only way they think that science might be interesting is because their ancient, provincial, medieval problems are being confounded slightly by some new phenomena…
They didn’t understand technology; they didn’t understand their time.

There are so many great things to say about Feynman including his love of life and his engagement with the world. I’ll simply encourage any dear readers of this blog to consider giving some of his writings a look at. In the meantime, I shall work hard on my version of Picasso at the Lapin Agile wondering what it would be like if Christopher Hitchens had ever shared a round with Richard Feynman.
